I am a Boston-born, New England native living just outside Raleigh, North Carolina. Late in 2012, I transitioned from a 10-year career in journalism to content marketing. Overall, I have 20 years of professional experience as a content creator specializing in scriptwriting, copywriting, copy editing, brand messaging, interviewing and strategy.
Proud Syracuse University grad (2000) here! I studied broadcast journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. After hanging it up as a sportswriter, primarily for New Hampshire's only statewide daily newspaper, I started my second act as a content writer and agency creative in enterprise B2B tech marketing.
Uncovering compelling themes in the stories people tell to turn often complex and technical topics into relatable narratives that demonstrate empathy, educate, entertain and inspire. (And I apply the five principles of ethical journalism to do it: Truth & Accuracy; Independence; Fairness & Impartiality; Humanity; and Accountability.)
As a director of content, I built a team to handle a $500K research- and writing-intensive engagement for IBM Cloud Learn Hub, an online repository for highly technical, long-form educational content that audiences coveted based on SEO keyword research.
The 11-month engagement in 2021 was a massive success by several measures, including:

Need and opportunity aligned for Year 2 of the engagement. To gain increased efficiency, I leaned heavily on my journalism background. In this case, it involved the successful implementation of a remote editorial staff of editors and writers that each covered a specific "beat" (i.e. category) including cloud, cybersecurity, data & AI, etc.
